     The GWRRA Ham Radio Special Interest Group is a GWRRA program, which is now part of the Membership Enhancement Division. The SIG’s are not designed to compete with the existing GWRRA Programs, but to provide additional ways for members with specific interests to network, ask interest specific questions and add more fun in their life. The SIG program requires “NO” extra membership fees, but does require that you are a GWRRA Member. It will NOT organize independent Ham Radio Chapters or hold monthly meetings.
     All GWRRA Members who are, or are thinking of becoming, a Ham Radio Operator may participate with this SIG.  If you are a GWRRA Member and interested in participating send your name, State, GWRRA Membership Number and expiration date of your Membership to us so we can add you to our database as this information will enable us to notify you of all information regarding the SIG.
      We will have informational booths at rallies to inform all Ham Radio Operators about the SIG and to get and share ideas with you.  We will be offering Ham Radio seminars at Rallies and at Wing Ding each year. The seminars are open to anyone, whether you are a Ham Radio Operator or just thinking about becoming one. Ham Radio seminars are to introduce and promote Ham Radio, answer questions for those interested in having Ham Radios on their motorcycles, and to address different technical issues involving interfacing their Radio’s to their Motorcycles. We promote Membership Retention by showing members that this is another way to stay active in GWRRA and continue riding.
      The Ham SIG has a message board for all to enjoy, as well as a web site. Visit both by going to www.gwrra.org and clicking on message board or go to National Divisions and under the Membership Enhancement Division click on Ham Radio Sig.
     Let us get out and ride, visit, eat when the occasion calls for it and have “FUN”. After all, is that not the reasons we joined GWRRA to begin with, to have “FUN” and “enjoy riding”? Now we can do all these things and at the same time enjoy our Ham Radios.
      Any program takes a lot of hard work and planning and we are willing to give this our best and hope you will support us.
